The Very Hungry Caterpillar Storybook Event

Little Learners explored literacy, science, dramatic play, and graphing with at our Very Hungry Caterpillar storytime event.   Each little caterpillar helped us tell the caterpillar's story of becoming a butterfly, then went on their own journey to taste foods, learn about nutrition and graph about what they learned.  Wondering, exploring, and trying new things were at the heart of this fun storytime.  We want to say a HUGE thank you to Home Cafe' for supplying us with the food we needed for our caterpillar's journey taste test investigation.  We also want to say thank you to the Warren County Public Library, Barnes and Noble, and the Warren County Early Childhood Council for working with us to develop such a fun learning experience for families in our community.

Each activity in this event was designed using the early childhood foundations found in our six part video series, Little Learners, BIG Ideas.  Click the images to the right to download our plan and materials for this event.
